Kathryn's Fab Fish Pie

A comforting fish pie loaded with mixed seafood, grated vegetables, and buttery mashed potato.

Kathryn’s Fab Fish Pie

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 kg floury potatoes (1cm slices)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 carrot (grated)
  • 3 large handfuls spinach (finely sliced)
  • 1 stick celery (finely chopped)
  • 150 g cheddar (grated)
  • 200 ml creme fraiche
  • ¼ tsp chilli powder
  • 1 lemon (zest and juice)
  • 700 g seafood (see notes)

Instructions

  1. Boil a pan of water, add the salt and cook the potatoes until soft.
  2. In a large bowl mix all of the vegetables, cheese, creme fraiche, lemon, chilli and fish (any fillets should be cut into 1cm cubes).
  3. Preheat your oven to 200°C.
  4. Push the cooked potatoes through a ricer, then add the butter.
  5. Pour the veg/fish mix into a casserole/gratin dish. Place the mash on top and run a fork over.
  6. Bake for 40 mins until hot and bubbling.

  • Prawns
